Cover art for the e-book edition of Robert Jordan's Knife of Dreams

More Michael Komarck awesomeness. I've been in love with his work ever since that Jaime Lannister cover of the ASoIF artbook, and since then he has given us some truly amazing art. Of course, I would rather slit my wrists with a toothbrush than actually read Knife of Dreams again, but the cover is still all kinds of brilliant.

In other news, the cover of Terry Goodkind's next "Richard and Kahlan" novel - The Omen Machine - is also circulating the internets, but I am not feeling in a generous mood and don't wanna sully this post dedicated to Komarck's beautiful artwork with it...

Underground Reading: Wizard's First Rule - Terry Goodkind

I stumbled upon this ridiculously awesome review of Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule in http://www.pornokitsch.com some time ago, and since I reread it again today, I thought to link it here. Favorite moment:

Richard also learns that, outside of fantasy Alabama, there's a whole world of gender-specific magical powers. Richard is a Seeker. Seekers are men, because only men can get angry. Kahlan is a Confessor. Only women can be Confessors because only women can love. Later we learn about the Torture Nymphs (women, as only women can be sensitive and wear leather), Wizards (men, as only men can do math and handle pain) and Sorceresses (women, as only women can be inferior to men). Richard's dim brain is pleased with the idea that he is a man, and therefore not doesn't have to wear leather.

It is WELL worth the time, even if you haven't read the book, but especially if you have and find it as absurd as I do.
